We are flying to the award-winning Fowles Winery at Avenel in the renowned Strathbogie wine region, where their experts will guide you through a specially curated selection of wines.

You can bring two bottles back on the DC-3 with you, and delivery can be arranged for additional purchases.

After the wine tasting you will be seated in their wonderful restaurant for a memorable three course lunch.

Our DC-3 flights give you the opportunity to ride in the Jump Seat with the pilots for either take-off or landing.

The Flight Crew experience

Arrive one hour before normal check in time to accompany the Captain and First Officer during their pre-flight activities, then join them on board for taxi and take-off. 

You will be part of the flight crew pre-flight briefing. This includes reviewing forecast weather and operational discussions, take-off, and emergency procedures, required documentation and the before flight final inspection of the aircraft.

How Your Day Unfolds

9:15 AM: Check-in at the VIP Lounge with tea, coffee, and champagne before boarding.

9:30 AM: Meet your Captain for a fascinating talk about the DC-3 “Gooney Bird” and its historic significance.

10:00 AM: Board the aircraft for departure.

10:15 AM: Take-off! Enjoy breathtaking views as you fly north past Melbourne Airport, Kilmore, and Seymour (route subject to Air Traffic Control).

11:00 AM: Land at Mangalore Airport and transfer by coach to Fowles Winery.

11:30 AM – 2:45 PM: Enjoy wine tastings and a gourmet three-course lunch at Fowles Winery.

2:45 PM: Coach transfer back to Mangalore Airport.

3:15 PM: Take-off for your return flight to Essendon Fields.

4:00 PM: Land with incredible memories of your day.
